A slight case of cabin fever has sparked thoughts of freshly painted walls, brighter colors or some amount of blue for our living room, and at least one pair of pants that are not black, beige, or denim. Which one of those I’ll tackle first, I cannot say, but one of my favorite things to do this time of year is visit the Pantone website to peruse spring color trends. If you’re not having pangs of spring yet, you will soon. When it happens, here’s where you’ll want to head first…

It’s January, but Spring 2013 has sprung. Long before those of us in the northern hemisphere began enjoying our first pot of hearty, homemade soup in autumn or a long winter’s nap, the color gurus at Pantone, the world-renowned authority on color, have  been working to bring a beautiful palette of spring colors to designers and production professionals around the globe. Graciously, they share many resources and the stories behind color trend development on their website. So, if you are considering a special event, a little shopping to pique your senses out of a frosty state of being, or simply curious about the color spectrum that is fresh and on the horizon, here’s a video from the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman, talking about fashion colors for Spring 2013.
